One of the most important things we can do as bodyworkers is help our client breath better. Self stretching can be helpful but nothing can replace skilled hands helping to mobilize the rib cage. In this class we will focus on indications, contraindications and considerations for working with the rib cage; the anatomy of the thoracic spine and rib cage; postural and movement implications of the thoracic spine and rib cage; the role of the rib cage in breathing; and Integrative Manual Therapy techniques to give the rib cage and thoracic spine more range and available options for breath.
