Back Stripes & More: A Deep Dive into Integrative Bodywork in the seated position.
In-Person or Live Online via Zoom (please let me know if you wish to attend Live Online)
4 Supervised CE Hours, Good for OBMT Renewal, NCBTMB approved for Live Participants
5-9 PM, Pacific Time
Location: 2135 SE 76th Ave, Portland, OR 97215
The seated position offers the Integrative Manual Therapist a fantastic opportunity to address a multitude of our client’s symptoms and some of the underlying patterns that are causing these symptoms in the spine, rib cage and neck. And the best part is we don’t need a specialized massage chair to do this—an adjustable stool or chair will work perfectly. From the seated position we can address spinal movement, breathing, neck and shoulder posturing as well as work w/ our clients patterns while balancing in gravity—something that we can’t do on a treatment table. We will start with orienting our clients to the seated position and progress to doing focused, specific work to ease, free and balance the muscles and fascial lines of the erector spinae group, transversospinalis group, QL, scalenes, upper trapezius from the seated position. We will also palpate and observe breathing patterns.
